Mototour is a motorcycle touring company, owned by Roger Scheffer, specializing in off-road tours throughout South Africa, including Lesotho, Transkei, Moçambique and Swaziland.
The tours vary in difficulty to accommodate all level of riders.
Roger feels that all tours must be a fantastic experience for each and every rider, and offers, through his riding academy, a one or two day off-road riding course before each tour to ensure the ability and confidence of the individual rider. Every tour is led by Roger himself and a support vehicle is available if necessary. All dual purpose bikes are welcome.
Roger is passionate about his riding and this rubs off on his clients. His aim is to make every tour a memorable experience for everyone and his planning and attention to detail ensures a hassle-free experience. A support vehicle is available for non-riders and unforeseen breakdowns and emergencies. If a client wants his/her partner to enjoy his experience and does not ride a bike, the support vehicle is a wonderful way for that person to also share in the adventure.
Mototour is operated from Greytown in KwaZulu-Natal and is strategically placed for all destinations in South Africa. The Drakensberg is also in KZN which hosts some of the most spectacular scenery in Southern Africa. Durban has an international airport and is a short distance from Greytown which is ideally situated for the transport of international clients.
As part of the BMW Rider Academy, the Courses are presented by Roger Scheffer and assisted by associate instructors. Roger is passionate about his riding and under his expert guidance guarantees to double your skills and reduce your fears by half, all in one weekend.
The training centre is situated at Imbabala Lodge, a game farm set in the tranquil hills of the Muden biosphere,
30 kms south of the Weenen Game Reserve on the R74 and 47 kms from Greytown. It is also the perfect place to bring you family whilst you are on course as it is a safe environment for them and there are plenty of activities to keep them occupied, i.e. mountain bike riding, game viewing, swimming pool, horse riding, hiking and birding. It is also a stone’s throw away from the Midlands Meander and day trips can be arranged. There is also a golf course in Greytown.
The Lodge is situated at the foot of the Mhlumba Mountain also known as Mt. Moriah.
